Folks,
For the non-East Africans here, there are two major tribes in Kenya. The
Kikuyu's, who have dominated politics and business,
and the Luo's who have been kept out of political and economic power. Someone
pointed out to me this week that a pessimistic
Kenyan saying actually came true this week.
The saying?
"It would be much easier for Luo to become President of the United States than
for a Luo to become President of Kenya."
Needles to say, Obama's father was a Luo.
