GWS Elects New Managing Committee for 2008-2009 The Members of the Goan Welfare
Society – Kuwait, at their Annual General Body Meeting held on 24th October,
2008, have unanimously elected 13 Members to constitute the Managing Committee
for the term 2008-09. The following are the Managing Committee Office
bearers: Mr. Alex Wilson Coelho - President; Mr. Sydney Furtado
- Vice-President; Ms. Sharon De Sousa - General
Secretary; Mr. Rabindra Pimenta - Treasurer; Mr. Cajetan
Pereira - Head of Cultural Cell; Mr. Joseph F.X. D'Souza
- Head of Educational Cell, Ms. Philomena Rebelo - Joint
Secretary; Mr. Mario Rebello - Joint Treasurer; Mr.
Lowrenco Miranda - Member Cultural Cell; Mr. Domnic Araujo
- Member Cultural Cell; Ms. Muriel Alphonso - Member
Educational Cell, Mr. Franco D'Souza - Member Educational Cell;
Mr. Dinesh Dessai - Internal Auditor; Mr. Mariano Da
Silva - Auditor General. The New Managing Committee is all set
to conduct their activities, in accordance with the mandate given to them by
the General Body, and work as a team, to safeguard the interests of the
Society, as desired by the members. Top priority will be accorded to the
