Dear Dr. Samir Kelekar,
A "total imprisonment of four years, eight months and two days" is
long ... but less than half of the term one is sentenced under NDPS
today for possessing 5g of heroin in India.
Did anyone dispute Nagesh Karmali's credentials as a FF .... or was
his continuation of disruptive activities in "liberated" Goa [as the
Fontainhas vandalism was in 2004] that was being questioned?

Naguesh Karmali, b. at Kakoda, on 5th Feb 1933 ; arrested on 16th
Sept. 1954; was kept in police custoy for about eight months, then
tried and sentenced to eight years of rigorous imprisonment ; was kept
at Reis Magos jail and then shifted to Aguada till he was released on
17th May 1959 under General Amnesty;suffered total imprisonment of
four years, eight months and two days;
