I think Marshall has suceeded in taking the mask off Santosh despite
protestations to the contrary. Santosh has brought in some news reports to
butress his points. One wonders why the claim by the Maoist leader claiming
full responsiblity is not cited. Is it because the 'retaliation' would then
lose its credibility? Mere reports cannot be a substitute for facts.
Indeed if there was any retaliation against the christian community, it is
because they have been successful in arresting the exploitation of the
marginalised and creating empowerment and awareness about their rights. It may
help not to hide behind a veneer of supposed detachment from religiosity in
order to garner respectabilty whilst offering comment.
