This is wrt message 10 dated today. I was born in Goa.So mother tongue is
Konkani.There were no schools in konkani so I did Marathi schooling till
Vernacular final.Then there was no further Marathi Schools.So went for English
school for matriculation.By rule we had to pass Premeiro Grau exams of
Portuguese language to proceed to fifth
standard.After matriculation had to leave Goa for College education.
During English schooling,my second language was French.I also studied Hindi
(Vardha)as it would be National language.After that I had to leave Goa for
college education.And since then I am away from Goa.There will be thousands
like me.I wish such ones like me,visit Goa
now and see for themselves where they have reached.
