Goans' tryst with pirates continues
Agonda youth on board hijacked ship off Somalia-- --
----------------------------------- The news of the Indian Navy action off
Somalia filled the airwaves, print and webb sites and was the talk of the town
in the Western world, lifting weary spirits in times of mostly ill tidings.
Yet, the New York Times, which goes beyond Wires and posts it's own
correspondents in twenty odd countries, said not a word. I was not surprised:
the Foreign News Desk editor is African American. Generally hateful to
immigrants, their xenophobia towards Indians has now reached a new high. I saw
it at work when the Jindal run for the US senate became became a frantic
community effort to stop him at any cost: that climaxed with the murder of two
Indians in their dorm beds. With an ongoing experience of slights, I believe
I am right in my analysis. Today, the paper reports on the caste-bias murder in
India over a love affair. eric.
