The acquittal of the suspected murderers of the priest by the concerned Court
is a derogation of the Judiciary and Civilisation. If the prosecution fails to
prove the case, which in this case is "The State", and the Judiciary acquits
the accused of a well planned murder; it only gives criminals an upper hand
over Judiciary as well as civilised people. It will send wrong signals to
Criminals that they can get away with any crime if Prosecution / the State is
deliberately made to fail the Prosecution; either by influencing through Power
or alternative types of inducement. The Court should have remanded re –
investigation of the case as there were too much of circumstantial evidence to
nail the two accused. The facts that are known are evidence
more of guilt. The motive is secondary.
1 – The two willing came to the priest’s residence. They were not lured /
forced in.
2 – The two fled in the middle of the night and were out of Goa by morning.
Why?
3 – The two absconded, were not at their respective homes not whereabouts
known. Why?
4 – No one else entered or could have entered before the crime as all doors
were locked as per witness, the sacristan.
