There is no justification for the attacks of November 26th. India?s Muslim
militants have done grave injustice to their community and country. Even though
they don?t speak for the 13% of India?s Muslims, they have created a rift
within Indian society whereby Muslim allegiance to India and India?s interests
will come increasingly under the scanner. One can almost hear the ghost of Veer
Savarkar rising to talk of Muslim loyalties lying elsewhere. And that sadly is
the greatest tragedy of all.

Mario asks

Selma,

How do you know, before an investigation has been carried out, that this attack
on Mumbai was in fact perpetrated by Indian Muslims? The Deccan Mujahideen
could be just a guy in a hut somewhere with access to a computer and a vivid
imagination.

Here is an article titled, "Mumbai attacks: Who are the Deccan Mujahideen?"

So who are the Deccan Mujahideen? Security analysts and intelligence experts
worldwide have been scrambling in the wake of the Mumbai attacks to determine
if the heretofore unknown group is affiliated with an existing group or if they
are indeed new.
