The terrorist attacks in India have become a routine event because India has not summoned the will or the skill to deal with such attacks successfully, and many Indians just chalk it all up to "karma". The author, Sandy Gordon, writes, "The BJP is making considerable political play of the Congress Government being "soft" on terrorism. Consequently the Government is contemplating toughening the counter-terrorism laws." Regardless of whether it is a political play or not, the evidence shows that the BJP is correct. The Government needs to do more than "contemplate" toughening the counter-terrorism laws, they need to actually follow through. What in God's name are they waiting for? I just heard a report yesterday that the number of innocent Indians killed by terrorists is around 4,000 just since 2004. Ms. Gordon continues, "Moreover, there has recently emerged a violent Hindu reaction to the growing problem of jihadi-inspired terrorism." If there has been a violent Hindu reaction to jihadi-inspired terrorism, I am not aware of any, unless she is referring to the Godhra attacks on innocent Muslims, which is not the same thing. The only violence recently that I'm aware of is mob violence against Christians by Hindu-extremists worried about Hindus going to hell by becoming Christians. Finally, Ms. Gordon concludes, "After each such attack, India seems able to pick itself up and resume where things left off." This is what my complaint has been for quite some time, the pride of Indians after every such attack that they can return to normal within 24 hours. This is precisely why the violence continues unabated, in fact it is escalating. Why? Because all such an attitude does is give the terrorists a free hand to gleefully plan where their next attack will be. The top terrorist leaders have basically three demands for them to stop killing innocent people around the world. a) For the Jews to give up Israel, b) For the Indians to give up Kashmir, and c) For everyone else to become Muslims. Since all three demands are non-negotiable, the only way to stop these terrorists is to kill them before they kill anyone else. The sooner the world, including the 99.9% of Muslims who do not think like Osama Bin Laden or Ayman al Zuwahiri, realizes this the better for the next innocent victims that will be targeted as surely as night follows day.
