Indians may be expert losers or expert winners. It is none of Rajan
Parrikar, an American citizen's problem.

Is an American citizen going to save Goa? At the most, he can ejaculate on
Goanet, to use his own words.

Mario responds:

Samir,

Now, wait just a minute. You are way out of line in your mean-spirited
response. I wonder if you even read Rajan's post.

What Rajan was outraged about was the absence of any senior Indian official to
publicly communicate with the international media and put in proper perspective
what was going on in Mumbai, leaving the Pakistanis and a biased TV anchor,
Zain Verjee, to malign India's image on CNN with calumnies of disaffected
Indian Muslims, and falsely insinuating, without any evidence, that they were
somehow involved in the attacks.

Someone needs to inform Ms. Verjee that Muslims are far better off in India
than in any Muslim country, as also proven by the fact that 140 million
continue to live there 60 years after Pakistan was formed.

Secondly, Americans are directly involved because India is seen as an ally of
the USA, simply because of the close working relationship between
fellow-democracies, even though India has done little or nothing to assist the
US in the war on terror and the liberation of Iraq.

Perhaps you somehow also missed the fact that these terrorists were targeting
Americans and Brits, even as they were wantonly and indiscriminately killing
innocent Indians as the attack on the Cama and Albless Hospitals and the CS
Train Terminal showed. In any attack on land in the USA like the one we just
saw in Mumbai the terrorists would have to contend with armed American
civilians from all sides even before the security forces were able to mobilize.
While we Americans can buy and use arms in the US to protect ourselves, we are
like sitting ducks when we are in India.

While a single American citizen may be unable to save Goa, the fact is that
millions of Goan have been unable to do so either.

Frankly, if I were advising the Indian government on how to deal with these
jihadis, far fewer Indians would die, and far more jihadis would meet their
maker, sooner rather than later.
