My intention was not to communalize this issue re Malegaon. I am sure Karkare would have been as stern with Fundamentalists irrespective of whether they were Hindus or Muslims.

During this recent fracas re raj Thackeray's arrest at Bandra court it was Ashok kamthe who ordered and fearlessly carried out a lathi charge against MNS supporters. It was reported on friday in mumbai mirrror , that Vijay Salaskar refused to leave Karkare alone which proved to be his undoing. All these officers has been a great loss to the city. Problem is ever since Raj Thackeray started his anti North Indian tirade, there has been tremendous negative backlash from the Northies. Look at this SMS message which I have received from at least 5 northie 'friends' of mine on Friday. All this parochialism when the city was facing one of the worst terror attacks ever in its history. "Where is Raj Thakray and his "Brave" Sena ?Tell him that 200 NSG commandos from Delhi (NO MARATHI MANOOS ! ALL SOUTH AND NORTH INDIANS) have been sent to Mumbai to fight the terrorists, so that he can sleep peacefully........" It almost make me feel that these Maharashtrians committed some act of treason by asking for jobs in central /"national" level services.
