The mind set of Goans seem to be going from bad to worse. I have been reading
e-news on Goan dailies regarding GCCI president stating that tourist arriving
in Goa should show more responsibility, citing the Scarlett & German teenager’s
case. This attitude or mindset of thinking is very detrimental to the future of
Goans. I would like to ask each and every Goan who wants to blame the mothers
in these two cases, whether they have any children? And would they advise their
children, that if they get an opportunity to rape or kill, to go ahead? And
then blame the victim? Where from have they got such an education? If your
house or establishment is burgled tomorrow, would you accept it is your fault
for sitting there guarding your goods? If your child is raped tomorrow, would
you shut your mouth and accept it’s your fault? If these are the principles
followed, then why have the Indian Penal Code? Draft an entirely new one! What
type of education are you’ll giving your children through this example? Can you
not accept your fault and educate your own children on what is right and what
is wrong? Who is the criminal? One who perpetrates or the victim? Are you
procreating a generation of goons & politicians? God save GOA.
