Thanks Fred for the delightful sound of authentic Goan Music. I am sending
this to the Friends of Saligao and to the OZ-GOAMOG -a musical group which
we formed in Perth to perform Goan Songs as part of our contribution to the
diversity of our Multicultural Society.
The costumes of the ladies is both colourful and elegant. I would like to
see the Men wear a sherwani and it will complete the Original Goan flavour.
In the context of our Indian heritage which we seek to preserve and foster
we need to remove vestiges of visual foreign apearances.
I am pleased too, that not only violins continue to provide the
accompaniment but it is instructive to know about our only percussion
instrument the gumot being played with variations of rhythms.
Those of us in the Diaspora look for inspiration to our Mother country and
you are doing a yeoman service. .
May I on behalf of the Friends of Saligao send you our best wishes for a
Holy and Blessed Christmas and May the New Year bring you all Peace and
Prosperity, Good Health and Success, and Joy and Happiness.
