"The only way to contain (it would be na?ve to say end) terrorism is to look at
the monster in the mirror. We're standing at a fork in the road. One sign says
Justice, the other Civil War. There's no third sign and there's no going back.
Choose."

Dear Dr Helekar

Without claiming to be some sort of authority I would like to offer a possible
explanation for Roy's concluding remark.

Look at the monster in the mirror = implies the monster is within
Justice = the terrorism within needs to be addressed in a fair manner.
Civil War = the absence of justice and continued terrorism within the country
could spell the beginnings of a civil war.

Perhaps Arundhati implies that when terrorism within stops the terrorists from
across the border will stop their tit-for-tat games which perhaps began with
the demolition of the Babri in 1992 by self-seeking politicians obsessed with
power.
It works. Ask Narendra Modi. If the BJP has a hero it is he.
Regards
Tony Martin
