Bosco D'Mello:
Perhaps Sonal Shah should be judged by her work going forward rather than her
associations of the past.

Marshall:
Should we offer the same privilege to Narendra Modi too? What
about Dawood Ibrahim and sundry others?

Bosco D'Mello:
Perhaps we are far too obsessed with this story and forgetting issues closer to
home.

Marshall:
Bosco, I think you are missing the link between the VHPA and VHP
back home. The one which is in the limelight for its terror activities
against minorities, the latest in Orissa, Mangalore and elsewhere. The
funding of this organisation primarily comes from the expats in the USA and
UK.

Mario observes:

As the only source of truth, reason and peace on Goanet, I can see that our
young idealist, Marshall, is clearly obsessed with forcing down our collective
throats the unsubstantiated insinuations aimed at Sonal Shah with absolutely no
evidence that she supports communal violence in any shape or form.

For Marshall to argumentatively allude to Narendra Modi and Dawood Ibrahim in
connection with anything we know about Sonal Shah is an exercise in illogic,
and makes my point about his obsession better than anything else.

In the meantime, young Marshall did not take any issue with a post suggesting
that India needs Narendra Modi, which only I apparently saw fit to challenge.
Neither has Marshall challenged Arundhati Roy's classic attempt to blame the
victims - the monster in the mirror - for being responsible for the terrorists
who attacked Mumbai.

The evidence shows that Ms. Shah was only engaged in fundraising for Gujarat
earthquake victims, has never been connected with supporting any violence and
has since repudiated the VHP. Yes, purists can fault her for doing it through
the VHPA. See if the earthquake victims care. If there was a lesson to be
learned she has learned it, believe me.

Right now, she is busy trying to prevent President-elect Barack Obama from
following through on many of his campaign threats, ...er, promises to raise
taxes and implement extreme environmental policies and protectionist trade
measures which would deepen the US recession which serves as an economic engine
for many of the other economies in the world, including India.

I suggest Marshall focus on the numerous entities actually engaged in harming
India.
