My wife today morning told me something I found alarming. It seems that on Saturday night an old Kunbi woman from Novo Portugal, was assaulted and raped by one drunken psychopath a man from Povocao. He came to her house at around 10.30 in the night and tried to remove a tile from the roof. The woman who I would say is in her late 60's at least, heard the sounds and thinking it was a rat went to investigate. Taking advantage of the fact that she opened the door, he rushed in and then began beating her up and then forced himself on her.
When she came to her senses later she tried to inform the neighbours who alerted her relatives. They however seemed reluctant to do very much about the matter. One of the neighbours took her to the police. The man it seems is arrested and in custody but is due to be released soon, as these people are poor and do not have the resources or the knowledge to use the criminal justice systems to seek redress. This is about the third incident involving this man. Earlier in Novo Portugal he has raped a young girl who is slightly mentally retarded. Here too the people concerned were too poor to follow up. They said that if they were to run to the courts, then they would not be able to work, and earn their daily bread. And in a third known incident he had also tried to force himself upon a migrant woman. Fortunately for her, she had a bottle in her hand which she used to hit on his head and was able to escape. It seems that the psycho has a relative in the police department who helps get him released. I am bringing this to the notice of moira-netters because if something is not done about him soon, he will be emboldened to continue his criminal acts.
