Frederick had made an interesting observation that many expatriates profess liberal values abroad and are arch conservatives back home. They practice double standards. Secularism for some of them is only skin deep. Here is an article written by Shashi Tharoor in the Washington Post sometime in the 90's but still very relevant today.
