Cases should be TIME BOUND. Currently its disgusting to find that most cases(however silly or useless it may sound) goes on and on for 15 to 30 years even. The longer the period , CULPRITS/CRIMINALS/TERRORISTS continue to enjoy and involve in more similar acts knowing fully well the prevailing timeless & pathetic slow system whereas on the other hand the innocent keeps suffering that long. When the cases go on and on , WE can only conclude that the WHOLE LOT seems to be an UNEDUCATED/UNREASONBALE/ILLLOGICAL lot OR INTELLIGENT/SMART/CUNNING lot who knows how to prolong & on and on............. The recent hike in salaries of Supreme Court and High Court judges was long overdue. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will now get paid one lakh a month. It is however an irony that India's highest paid Advocate General in Goa, Mr. Subodh Kantak, is still earning five times the salary of the Chief Justice of India.Accepting the position of a judge is a very big challenge. One has tosacrifice one's personal liberty to a great extent. While Politicians havebags loaded with money delivered to their home, Judges get bags loaded withfiles which they have to read through in the evening in preparation for thenext day.The Government should now act expeditiously and also hike the salaries andimprove the benefits of Subordinate Court Judges, Public prosecutors,Assistant Public Prosecutors and other Government advocates. Today someJudges are travelling by buses and there is a need to provide vehicles toall judges for their personal security and convenience. Better benefits needto be given to Court staff too.It has to be ensured that only persons with good knowledge of law and a goodinsight to interpret and dispense it should be entrusted the responsibilityas Judges. Government should ensure good pecuniary benefits to all thejudicial officers so that the judiciary attracts nothing less than the bestand the brightest.Only persons with sound knowledge of law should be selected even at theentry level as Judicial Magistrate First Class. The selection of subordinatecourt judges has to be very meticulous as persons who cannot interpret thelaw damage the justice delivery system.
