Dear Goanetters,
Due to my Official postings, I am moving to Mangalore from Goa, next week
(17/01/2009).
Goan experience is wonderful and memorable to me and I love the land and the
people. Whatever interactions I used to have and whomsoever I have met so far
have showered warmth and affection to me and my writing. Systems in Goa, though
need improvements, are tested to be by far better than any other part of India,
wherever I have had a stint.
Goans are unique in reflecting hospitality, concern with a unique lifestyle.
The brotherhood and oneness in carrying out celebrations is equally amazing.
Thanks to Goanet for bringing me closer to Goans and Goan sentiments
In all my articles published in Navhind Times, Vijay Times, Gomantak Times,
Herald, Town Hall, LIVE IT(Delhi Press) and also the Goa plus (times of india),
I made sincere efforts to take up unique problems and the local solutions.
I owe Goa and Goans all my success in my writing work during the past 4 years
in the newspapers
During my writing efforts, I focussed more on the Road Safety Theme as I have
had a first hand experience and expertise. Goa responded to this directly or
indirectly and I feel proud that Goa has moved to the next slot level in
dealing with road Safety concerns.
I had also written on the Goan Police Force and the Security requirements in
Goa, more than once. To-day, I am happy to see the panoramic changes in the
Goan Police Force and also the Security drills. Much needs to improve too.
Unseen Mentors: I owe my regards to Mr.FN, who inspired me on Goa net as well
as in other columns. Mr.Valmiki Feleiro gave me the strength to take a plunge
into the newspaper writings.GOACAN and MARG respected my writings and gave me
an opportunity for me to play a role in their efforts. Again Mario Govia and
other friends on the goanet had given me encouragement all through. Editors
Arun, Robin,Derek, Ashwin,Sneha Salgaoncar, Rajib Borah gave me their support
and improved my writing and enhanced the arena.
Goa gave me an opportunity to be associated with International Conference on
Indology conducted by Dr.Anjali Mohan Rao and Dr.Nilesh Korde. This Conference
brought a good lot of people from all over the globe to talk/play on various
segments of Indology.
Goa also gave me an opportunity to complete my research paper on women
empowerment during 2006 Sydney Conference of International Association for
feminist Economists.
>From Goa, I could also walk into the Parliament of India and present my
>suggestions/solutions at the Rajya Sabha before the Standing Committee on
>Amendment of Motorvehicles Act,2007, on october 4, 2007.
Now, leaving Goa , leaves me under a slight discomfort. But, I am sure that my
association with Goa and Goans and Goanetters would continue as I LOVE GOA AND
GOANS.
HATS OFF TO GOAN HOSPITALITY AND LOVE
I need all your bestwishes and encouragement to continue contributions to
Goanetters and also the news papers of Goa. That would fulfil my desire to
CONTINUE to be a GOAN (Non-Resident).
WITH LOVE AND GREETINGS
NC
