RE: FOMENTO V/S SEBASTIAN RODRIGUES OF GOA SU-RAJ PARTY
1. That Seby must defy the intimation to attend the Calcutta High Court.
This is not to disrespect the Honourable HC of Kolkata but to let it know of
the utter silliness of the suit Seby being the leading part of the
agitation against Goa's environment and endangered health of endless number
of people.
2 That the Calcutta HC is best advised to dismiss the Petition on the
grounds that the proper venue is the Bombay HC at Goa. The argument here is
that internet is read the whole world over. Should such petitions be then
filed everywhere in the world??? Who's kidding whom here???
3. That this is a clear case of 'harrassment' to Sebastian, first, naming
him a Naxalite (courtesy Manohar Parrikar). Now this.
4. That the Government of Goa be pressurized (aka Goa Bachao Abhiyan's mass
meet at Azad Maidan on 18 Dec, 2006) to close down all mining ops in Goa
until a comprehensive mining policy is established which satisfies all
vested interests as well as the people of Goa, especially those in the
mining belts who are acutely affected. This should be done through
hearings/discussions etc on a time bound agenda.
3. That if mining, which is the gift of Goa to Goa and Goans, does not
benefit its people evenly, it should not be touched and should remain as it
is, deeply buried whether the government of Goa or the Central government
likes it or not.
And last but not the least
Audhut Timblo of Fomento is a dear friend of the Goa Su-Raj Party.
He must realize that Seby is the Party's very important member and his work
has always
had the blessings of the Party, for the Party he belongs to is itself a
Green Party of Goa.
He must immediately correct this foolhardiness of filing this suit in the
Kolkata HC by
immediately having it withdrawn. If he feels that he is justified that Seby's
writings are
harmful to his bonafide business then he must proceed with the suit in the
Bombay HC
at Goa.
This is a very friendly advice from the institution he so greatly admires.
