Khapriak khuim Bak'ran (landlord) falea Ponje vochon'zai mhun sangul'lem
[The landlord had told the Khapri that he needed him to go to Panjim on an
errand -
the next day]

Dusrea dissa, Bak'ar Khapriak mevona fude Khaprian sanglem " Bak'ar aum raticho
Ponje vochon ailom!"
[Next day break, when the landlord wanted to give instructions to Khapri on the
impending errand, the Khapri said " But sire, I have already gone to Panjim and
back
during the night]

:-))

And this is a real story:

A retired Africander once told me during the Christmas day visits ( circar
1967-68)
when I was a college boy ( :-)) now U know I went to college, Uhmmm ?:-)) )

"One day", he said, " this arrogant khapri ( my house boy ) picked up on me".
"One
kick and he was down".

To that I had responded: "Sir, that KICK has rebounded. Don't you see that you
are
in good old Goa just frothing inthe mouth whereas the 'Khapri' is the master of
his
land ?"

Note: No offence meant, please.

And we think we are way better than Khapris.
Apologies for letting my racial biases surface.
India is getting nearer to Khapri-land."
