Could this man possibly be a Goan. The reason I ask is according to US records,
he became a naturalised citizen of the United States in the year 1896. We know
that he was born in Goa in 1869 for sure but we don't know what his race was,
as the naturalisation certificate doesn't mention it.
We also know he was 6ft tall, had dark brown eyes, black hair and dark
complexion. He worked in a bank in Missouri, US. At the time of naturalisation
he was 26 years old.
Could this be one of the oldest Goans of the US? Was Ellis ever a Goan surname?
