with
ACOUSTIC GUITAR ORCHESTRA OF GOA
AGOG (Acoustic Guitar Orchestra of Goa) is an ensemble of classical guitar
students led by Rui Lobo and Roque Lazarus, under the mentorship of Schubert
Cotta. This concert is a part of an ongoing series of performing
opportunity, where students are given a platform to present their music and
be appreciated by a supportive audience. AGOG is going to perform some
pieces by French composers and other European composers, as well as Goan
songs. They are having their debut collaboration with soprano singer,
Archana Kathrein.
Archana was trained in Nuremberg, Germany, under performing opera singer
Monica Teepe, and is currently getting coached by Rebecca Martins from
Nuremberg Hochshule. She started learning sitar and tabla at Sangeet
Mahabharati but was drawn to western classical singing by the influence of
her husband, guitar/sitar player Christian Kathrein.
