You certainly have a point there, Arwin. But it is Goans themselves and of course, the Goan government ,which has brought Goa to this sorry state.
The desire to earn from the tourism industry has resulted in Europeans taking advantage of the lax laws to buy property and settling down in large numbers. With them have come rave parties, and of course, rampant drug abuse. Corrupt Goan officials have let wealthy non-Goans do the rest. Unbridled construction activities all over Goa has put paid to the scenic beauty that Goa was proud of. The fact that Goans have been a tolerant lot has gone against them. Perhaps, a more parochial people would have been better off. Rina Mukherji
