Walker seems to be on a voyage of new discovery about the power of medicinal plants from Goa. But in fact Brasilian historian Gabriel Freyre has already mentioned in a documentary a few years ago as to how the Jesuits and other missionaries used Goan herbs to colonize Brasil. Soldiers were treated with Goan medicine against tropical diseases.
