BARACK OBAMA - THE NEW MESSIAH ?
Averthanus L. D'Souza.

Excerpt:

It is the supreme irony of our times that "Democrats" are
undermining the very basis of true democracy which is government of the
people, for the people, by the people, by investing in their government
powers which no government is competent to handle.

Mario observes:

The excerpt above shows a complete lack of knowledge of what the modern
American Democrat party has stood for since the Great Depression in the 1930's
- as much government intervention in the economy and people's lives as they can
get away with.

Messiah???!!! Only for the far left wing political fringe and American
Caucasians seeking to assuage their guilt over past slavery and those who
oppose the liberation of 25 million Iraqis who now have the opportunity to
experience freedom and democracy, thanks to President Bush, who almost
single-handedly defied most of the rest of the world to provide this epic
opportunity to the Iraqis.

No one I met in India wants to discuss why the radical Muslim fanatics and
other assorted left wingers - many of who enjoy freedom and democracy
themselves - were so desperately and vehemently opposed to the liberation of
Iraq, preferring to obsess on the missing WMDs which the whole world knew
Saddam Hussein had, had used against Iran and his own people, and never
disclosed what he had done with, even at the risk of his cushy dictatorship,
which he had massacred hundreds of thousands in order to preserve. 17 UN
resolutions over 12 years are stark proof of this, which the left wingers
prefer to obfuscate.

Of course, if one only listens to everything Barack Obama has to say and
ignores everything he has actually done, he is the greatest thing since sliced
bread, especially in his own mind.

The facts are that he is a political chela of the infamous left wing community
agitator, Saul Alinsky, one of Obama's many far left wing gurus along with the
proponents of the Chicago school of black liberation theology like Rev. Wright
and Fr. Phleger.

Barack Obama is also one of the most self-centered and radical left wing
Americans - just peruse the list of his past political relationships and
alliances - to ever be elected to the US presidency, and is even to the left of
Franklin Roosevelt, whose vote bank politics Obama now seeks to copy at the
expense of the productive sectors of America. The Messiah nonsense is in the
eye of his various beholders and is at complete variance with anything in his
background and experience and lack of any significant legislative achievements.

The proof lies in his mere 150 days or so in the US Senate before beginning to
campaign for President. In the Senate, he did not author a single piece of
legislation but signed on to legislation initiated by others, while finding the
time to write not one, but two self-serving biographies.

During the campaign he was able to fool enough Democrats to nominate him,
including the shocked Clintons, and Bill Clinton was moved to accuse Obama of
playing the race card and even called him a "Chicago Thug".

Excerpt:

The debate as to whether socialism is preferable to capitalism will continue
for some time to come; ...

Mario observes:

Averthanus, kitem mhontai, re? Any debate has already been overtaken by actual
events. Real socialism has been dead for quite some time now, relegated to the
thrash heap of history where it belongs by all it's major proponents like
India, China, Russia, etc. and now only to be found in abject economic basket
cases like Zimbabwe, Cuba, Venezuela, N. Korea, etc.

Western Europe is moving away from extreme socialism whereas Barack Obama,
ignoring the experience of everyone else, is proposing to take America to the
left. Even the seeds of the current financial crisis are to be found in his
socialist notion of "spreading the wealth" by government fiat by forcing the
banks to lend to unqualified borrowers to encourage them to own their own
homes. This started under Jimmy Carter's Community Reinvestment Act, was
dormant under Republican regimes but expanded under Bill Clinton and later
protected and defended by the Democrat party, with Obama being the largest
annual recipient of political contributions by the PACs of Fannie mae and
Freddie Mac which were complicit in the economically faulty scheme. John
McCain and President Bush tried to slow down the juggernaut but did not have
the votes, and the mainstream media tagged McCain with the crisis, which is one
of the biggest falsehoods in modern journalism. Prior to
that McCain had overtaken Obama in the polls after he chose the charismatic
Sarah Palin as his running mate - a real political achiever and reformer by any
standards as her stellar achievements in Alaska have proven beyond any doubt,
where she even included Democrats to her cabinet and took on and defeated
corrupt politicians, some from her own party, and powerful oil company
executives as well. In the meantime Obama has no significant record of working
with the opposition when he had the chance, though he talks of inclusion, and
remains one of the most partisan politicians in America.

Fortunately, he is not likely to be around for more than one term, because
radical Islam is likely to take advantage of his learning curve both in Israel
and elsewhere and the US economy to struggle under the weight of his vote bank
spending and outsourcing protectionist measures to reward his union supporters
at the expense of low-cost service providers like India, but he will do severe
damage in the meantime.
