India paid, due to pressure from Dhongi Mahatma Gandhi, 55 Crores when
Pakistan was officially created despite cabinet decision not to pay. And
from thereon Pakistan started attacks on India and is still continuing.

What is more surprising is that Indian Budget since 1948 always show an
entry of "Amount due from Pakistan on account of share of pre-partition debt
(approx) - Rs 300 crores, at an interest rate of 3 per cent."

Pakistan was to pay back this amount along with interest in 50 annually
equated installments starting from 1952.

Pakistan till date has not paid a pai nor did India ever demand a rupee from
Pakistan against this account till date. So why is India government showing
an entry of 300 crores in every budget?
