MARGAO- When all looked lost and gone for Sonsodo dump yard, the Fomento group has expressed desire to take up the project as part of their corporate-social responsibility.

The reason: corporate-social responsibility. Two cheers for the Fomento group! I sincerely hope they will extend their social conscience and sense of corporate responsibility to the workers of the Cidade de Goa hotel where the Supreme Court has ordered the demolition of an illegal construction resulting in the direct loss of jobs to a number of workers. These workers need to b given jobs or paid a compensation package. Until the Fomento group shows its willingness to uphold this laudable principle in the case of the Cidade de Goa hotel as well, it will have to be two, not three cheers. Last, but not least, we Goans need to be grateful to a silver lining known as the Supreme Court.
