Mario responds: Edward, Instead of mindless poppycock about the UK and the 60's, wouldn't you have far more credibility if you had responded to some of the facts from the column in my previous post? If you had read the column you would have seen that it referred to the US, not the UK. The author is a respected economist from a major university, not some third rate newspaper in the UK - from the 60's. The last time I checked this was 2009. Please read the column and see if you can write a reasonable response to what is in it, based on facts.
