FR. Mathew Almeida’s Condolence Meeting Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) will be organising a condolence meeting of Fr.. Mathew Almeida on 27th Feburary, 2009 at 4.30 p.m. in Institute Menezes Braganza Hall (Art Gallery Hall), Panjim. Fr. Matthew Almeida, S.J. a veteran Konknni Researcher, writer and co-founder of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr in 1983 died on 18 February 2009, in JMJ Hospital at Alto Porvorim, Goa after a brief illness. He acted as the Province Consultor as well as the Editor of the TSKK Research Bulletin “Sod” and the popular Jesuit monthly publication in Konkani ’Dor Mhoineachi Rotti.’ He has 13 books to his credit which include Research books, transliterated work and he was the co-author of many books. His Research articles are published in Konkani Vixvkox [Konkani Encyclopaedia of the Goa University, Bulletin of Institute Menezes Braganza, in ‘Jesuits in India: In historical perspective’ of the Series Jesuits in Asia, Indica, Sod, Indian Linguistics, Encyclopedia of Jesuit Biography, and Encyclopedia of Linguistics. He has also written and published popular articles in the local newspapers in both Konkani and in English. All are invited to attend the condolence meet.
