Folks,
Am really glad that this responsibility is catching on in Goa.
Here in Toronto, the equivalent is Craig's List. It is amazing what people can
come up
with when given the right platform. For example, the most popular part of
Craig's List
is the section that has stuff for free. About a month ago, my DVD remote got
put into
a mug of beer (the longer story on another day). When I went to the agent for a
new
remote, he informed me that they stoped manufacturing that particular type of
remote.
When I asked him what I should do, he replied, ``either buy an universal remote
for $85
or go on Craig's List where you will be able to get it for free.¨ I got that
remote the very
week I put in my advert. The guy I collected it from, was happy that he did not
have to throw a perfectly good remote into the city`s garbage heap.

PS. Since Cecil will fire off an email asking, yes, I did spend the $85 buying
more beers.
And yes again, I did put in an advert in Craigs List saying I would be willing
to cart away,
for free, from any home, beer that was no longer required.
