Would you like the Pakistanis to come and tell you what to do in relation to
the current rule? The bhailo should have been packed off immediately. The
Portuguese were too lenient. Clearly today we are in a  banana. As for the
discrimination please enumerate. If it is the casta, the Portuguese never
brought this system to Goa. The elities still rule Goa today. Is any mine owner
or large business run by sudrekas?

Joe co Uk is doing a great job by posting the anomalies in the banana republic

Fed up of your defensive kanios.

Best wishes.

Before the "bhailo", there were many "bhitorlos" who were campaigning
for the same cause -- civil liberties, an end to Portuguese colonialism
in Goa (replaced by whatever, an autonomous State, union with India, a
banana republic, or a plutocracy of the traditional elites).

Anyway, why should we label people 'bhailo' only when they undertake
actions which *we* dislike? For every priviledged (or supposedly
priviledged) citizen of the colonial Estado, there were five or ten who
felt disempowered and discriminated against.

I'm not sure what act of JoeGoaUK (whom you call Joe.co.uk in your
typical style) you're referring to. But attitudes towards 1961 often end
up in terms of class conflict. FN
