Cecil,
Next time Olga Auntie drops by, let her know about the history of Goan men.
Here is the summary:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first people of Goa were originally small bands of nomadic gatherers.
They lived in the cool mountains during summer gathering fruits etc. and would
go to the coast for mackerels and shellfish for the rest of the year.
The two most important discoveries in Goa were that of hypnosis and coconut
feni.
Hypnosis was invented for the Goan man to get a partner. Feni was invented for
the
Goan man to temporary get away from his partner.
Since there where no bottles when feni was invented, the early Goan men stayed
close to the coconut trees. This is how most villages were formed. Some men
needed
a ride home after drinking feni and that's how the bullock cart and roads came
about.
Since the best cure for a hangover is kangi water, rice cultivation started and
those
with the best access to rice became the most sought of son-in-laws.
The Goan man who could not drink or hypnotize people developed lower
testosterone
levels and went on to discover other pleasures like group therapy and bottled
water.
