The capitalist class has acquired a complete stranglehold
over Goa, says VIDYADHAR GADGIL

The abominable ordinance recently brought in by the
Goa Government to change the land acquisition law
and save the illegal portion of the luxury Cidade
De Goa hotel from demolition is a demonstration, if
any were needed, of the stranglehold of the
capitalist class over Goa. One cannot but gape in
awe at the brazen way in which the law has been
remade to nullify the fact that it had been
deliberately broken, and to escape the consequences
          that would flow from this.

and,

The capitalist class of Goa has perfected the art
of 'robber baron' capitalism, pioneered in the US
by people like J. Pierpont Morgan, Andrew Carnegie
          and Henry Ford.

Mario responds:

I have never heard so much poppycock on Goanet in a long time.

OK, OK, I have never heard so much poppycock on Goanet for about a week when I
was forced to expose a habitual prevaricator once again:-))

The Ciudade de Goa situation in Goa has nothing to do with capitalism, which is
based on a system of laws that are honestly enforced. It is based on good old
fashioned Goan corruption using tactics of cronyism and elitism for insiders
and influential entities that are commonplace in communism.

To mention Morgan, Carnegie and Ford who were not indicted or found guilty of
anything is a blatant calumny popular among communists who are far more
manipulative that any capitalist in replacing honest industrialists with loyal
communist party hacks. This is what contributed to communism's eventual demise
and the remaining communist countries, Cuba, N. Korea, Zimbabwe, Venezuela,
Ecuador, are now shining examples of how a small cabal of communist elitists
control everything.

As the recent cases in the USA prove, crooked capitalists from Martha Stewart
to Kenneth Lay of Enron, to Dennis Kozlowski of Tyco, to Bernie Madoff, just to
mention a few, all ended up in jail.
