To: <[email protected]>, <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" Why are these newspapers harping only on demolition? Why don?t they investigate how ?Cidade de Goa? managed to obtain all necessary permission for construction of the illegal portion? Who were the Authorities involved? Were these authorities incompetent that they did not know it was illegal or was there money involved? For which, ?Cidade de Goa? can also be accused of having bribed officials and obtained the requisite permissions for the illegal construction through corrupt means. Which means the government officials connived? And as habits die hard, today, the C.M. and the Governor also have connived. As some newspapers put it, the demolition would cause a loss of some 12 crores; these crores could be utilised for next elections and still have the illegal structure intact. Wishful thinking!
