Poetry Films : A unique cinematic genre
A audio visual screening cum lecture by Shri Jitendra Ram Prakash on the theme
“Poetry Films : A unique cinematic genre” is organized on 26th March 2009, 6.00
p.m. at International Centre Goa, Dona Paula.
Shri Jitendra Ramprakash is curator of Sadho. Sadho is a voluntary
organization that aims at taking great 'poetry to people' from all walks of
life through the innovative use of arts, media and social action. Sadho had
organized First Poetry Film festival in 2007 at Delhi wherein 83 film 23
countries selected from 1500 entries were screened. Second Poetry Film Festival
will also be held at Delhi in October/November 2009. For more details log in to

International Centre Goa, Dona Pula and Taleigao Chess Academy Sports Club have
jointly organized this program. This is a prelude to workshop on above topic
later this year. This is an opportunity to local poet and film makers to
interact with him.
Noted poet Shri Vishnu Surya Wagh will be Chief Guest and art film lover Shri
Daulat Havaldar will preside over the function. Shri Shrikant Barve on behalf

Jitendra Ramprakash
is a voice-trainer & poet with the soul of a wanderer, and the founder of
‘Sadho’, a voluntary organization that aims at taking great poetry to people
from all walks of life.
He has trained 21 TV channels of 7 networks in 9 languages in the areas of TV
anchoring, voice & speech, & reporting.
He has also voiced commercials, channel IDs, documentaries, various AV
productions and audio-books. But to him, the ‘speaking voice’ is an art form &
not merely a commercial tool.
Earlier, in what he terms as ‘another life’, he was a well known TV host &
professional, known specially for his impromptu anchoring, handling of live
programs, live translations & interviewing that reflected his understanding of
various arts.
He also made some films, including a 26-min single shot film.
He quit a successful television career to explore his other interests, central
among which are ‘Rehearsal Room’ and Sadho.
His poems & translations have been published in various anthologies, literary
magazines & newspapers.
Besides poetry & voice, his other interests include the mountains, Hindustani
vocal music, Indian languages & world cinema
