Let's Prove That We Are Matured And Responsible
As we Goans march on into the 21st century, it is the power and the will of the
people of Goa that needs to be affirmed and established, and to do that what we
need in earnest, is a revamp of the Town and Country Planning Act to incorporate
the 73rd and 74th amendments to the Constitution in a bid to ensure a
participatory planning process for panchayats and municipal bodies, which is
being sought by the people of Goa. It is high time our elected members of the
Assembly give us a part of what we gave them, when we elected them "to power".
The panchayat minister is very keen to strangle us with an amendment to the
Panchayati Raj Act, this act will empower the secretaries and the bureaucrats to
over rule "peoples"resolutions, instead of empowering the Aam Aadmi, our selfish
corrupt politicians are planning to make Aam Aadmi impotent and powerless.
Though there could be a tangible theory that the our politicians may have
brought forth, reason enough to act against the wishes of the people, most
probably their theory is that, if we can be so naïve enough to elect such
incompetent and depraved imbeciles, over and over again to the Assembly, we most
certainly don't know what is good or bad for us and hence don't deserve power in
our hands. Could be, they have a point there. Power in the hands of immature,
irresponsible could be dangerous !!!
Now the million dollar question is, are we still immature and irresponsible,
even after we have seen, all that's been going on in our beloved Goa ?
We showed that we are matured and responsible during the opinion polls, we
showed we are matured and responsible when we forced the government to make
Konkanni the official language of Goa and we showed we are matured and
responsible when we forced the government to scrap RP 2011 and we most certainly
are not immature and irresponsible NOW !! I hope for the sake of Goa, we will
let the government know in no uncertain terms the fallacies of their
misconceptions and prove that we indeed are mature and responsible people who
love and cherish Goa
All over Goa, panchayats have come forward with their own plans and redrafts for
RP2021, this is the power of the people, for the people and by the people, with
all the hard work done, let's not go back to sleep but force the government to
implement the changes done by the people in the RP 2021. There is no doubt that
Goa needs RP, but that should be what the people want and not what the corrupt
politicians want.
Our Parliamentary elections are just round the corner, let us all be united in
your fight as Goans for Goa and get rid of both the communal and the corrupt
parties from Goa.
