I too complained bitterly about Goan bands playing English songs of yore (circa 1960 and 1970). I was reprimanded by JoeGoauk saying that Goan bands do not play many Konkani songs but churn out these old rubbish English songs to please the young Goan boys and girls who I am led to believe like these songs. How can we sustain our culture when these bands keep playing English songs. I cannot see any hope for Konkani language when we do not promote our own culture. Kind regards. Ignatius Fernandes.
