Dear fellow Goans,
As the final countdown is nearing this Parliamentary election, there are bound to be “ifs” and “buts” in the voters mind which is quite understandable. A lot has been said and published about the candidates on offer through the media and cybernet. For South Goa parliamentary constituency, Matanhy Saldanha appears to be the only politician with a vision, who does his homework well and pursues his goals with conviction of purpose. His mission during the last 35 years and leadership to peoples’ struggles speaks volumes of his honesty and selfless devotion to Goa and its people. Through this election campaign Matanhy has already achieved in making his demand for Special status, popular with the people and finding favour with all the major parties contesting. Moreover, every issue Matanhy has raised and fought has been taken on board by successive Governments in the past, and it is interesting to see now too, the Congress and BJP camps are chanting the slogans of “Special status” for Goa and CRZ issues, etc. though not out of belief, but more as an election gimmick, beware. The Congress knows how easily the Goan electorate can be fooled, like Eduardo Faleiro did during the Konkan railway realignment agitation and Sardinha whose reputation is not any better, even after more than 30 years in power, must be told in no uncertain terms, that Goa is faced with more important issues that need attention on priority, than his nonsense of legalizing “Dhirios” . With crucial issues like CRZ, SEZ , Mega Housing and illegal Mining to name a few, haunting the aam aadmi, the Congress cannot be trusted at all, and since the BJP - Modi brand hidden agenda is alien to peace loving Goans, the only choice is ‘KATOR’ in the safe hands of Matanhy Saldanha.
