I've just heard that Er. A.P.Remedios died of cancer 3 days ago. 

My heartfelt sympathies to his family. 

This is a great loss to the civil engineering fraternity. Many of us may 
remember our practical training with him on construction sites.

A.P.Remedios, Construction Consultant & Trainer is a chartered a engineer 
(civil), is an authority on Reinforced  &  Prestressed  Concrete  &  Structural 
Steel. He was born in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and obtained his engineering 
degree in London. He has international experience having worked in UK, Sweden, 
Southern Rhodesia, India, in different capacities such as, worked as civil 
engineer, design engineer, contracts manager, even as Quarry Manager for 
Crusher and Sand Plants; . He has worked on diverse big projects viz. Bridges, 
Power Stations, Intake Structures, Chimneys, Cooling Towers, Silos, Water 
Filtration & Sewage Treatment Plants; Underground and Overhead Water Tanks; 
Factory Buildings Cement Plants, Industrial Structures; Reinforced and No-Fines 
Concrete Housing; Tunnels, Structural Steel and Reinforced Concrete Structures; 
etc.

His professional memberships include those of M.I.C.E. (Institution of Civil 
Engineers, London);  Indian Standards Institution: Concrete Sub-Committee 
BDC:2.2 ; Indian Roads Congress: Bridge Bearings Committee

Since 1971, he has provided Construction Consultancy Services, Trouble Shooting 
and  Practical Training to Central & State Government Departments and 
Undertakings; Contractors; to  Builders & Developers; and Private Parties; to 
Structural Consulting Engineers; to Architects; etc. 

A.P. Remedios can truly be called the Consultants’ Consultant and even the 
Trainers’ Trainer.
