Goa-land of sun,sand and plastic?
Goa was once rightly called as the land of sun,sand,fun,fenni and football but
things have changed for our mai Goa during recent times and I m sure niz
goenkars will agree with me if I call my mai Goa as also a land of
plastic.Plastic has just been dumped in open areas,not leaving Goa's beautiful
fields and our so called government which has got a well qualified garbage
minister is not at his best as far as garbage issue is concerned.It really sad
to say that as long as the top pollutants of Goa,I mean to say our 40 elected
representives are not burnt into ashes our garbage problem will not be
solved.The one time very beautiful state of Goa which once was known for
natural beauty and lovely virgin beaches will soon turn out to be a garbage
zone if we so called niz goenkar's don't make our elected government to act
now.I mean to say now and hope the message is loud and clear.
Our sand has also started to change it's colour,I mean to say,again the same
garbage has mixed with our holy sand.Our high quality natural well water turned
out to be polluted,thanks to our past elected representatives for bringing
pollution creating factories in Goa and the present elected representatives for
doing nothing to save our wells.The historic village of Cuncolim is the living
example wherein number of wells has been polluted due to the dumping of
industrial waste without any study and planning.Our present elected
representatives are more harmful than plastic and need to finish them first and
only than we will get some relief from plastic.
The sun in Goa has turn out to be more hot in recent years and you all goenkars
should have better reasons than me.Regarding fenni,the so called traditional
render looks like dying and presently it's very difficult to find the same
fenni which we use to get years ago.Has the past and the present governments
has done anything to save our traditional render?
The so called football lovers which runs a football club in Goa are mostly seen
fielding non-goans in their team and such people could turn out to be a threat
to our football which runs in the blood of niz goenkars.
And regarding the fun,the so called time restrictions has come into picture in
recent times.The days are gone when the niz goenkars use to dine and dance till
the next morning during their wedding celebrations.Nobody were getting distured
because goa was of goans but that is not the same case now.I hope niz goenkars
will agree with me,liquor has always been a part of catholic celebrations and
just because of the election code people had to celebrate their wedding without
alcohol on the 21st,22nd and the 23rd,this is a insult to our culture.One of my
friends wedding was planned a year ago but were elections in Goa planned a year
ago?And to tell you the fact fun loving people like us are not interested in
such elections as we feel that these elections are to ruin and loot our country.
In spite of witnessing so many ugly incidents in the one time beautiful state
of Goa,I still say,VIVA GOA!VIVA GOENKAR!
