My personal belief is based on faith and some circumstantial evidence.

All religions are based almost entirely on faith.

What is the purpose of any debate on the existence of God?

This question should be addressed to Padre Ivo. Once I had convinced him
that science cannot prove or disprove the existence of God, I thought the matter would end right there. However, he has persisted in trying to turn the English language upside down and use some popycock experiments by a Dr. Beauregard to try and use science
to prove that God exists.
***Mario, you are misquoting and misinterpreting me. I only repeated that Science cannot prove nor disprove the existence of God. It does not mean that our belief in God is just a figment of mind, without the reality of God, whom we come to know through reason and Revelation. Neuroscientific experiments of Dr.Mario Beauregard show the singularity of the 'mystical experiences', but do not prove the existence of God. Science cannot prove it, but the experiment shows that the experience is mediated by a reality outside the brain. Otherwise, it would be 'hallucination'...
Regards.
Fr.Ivo
