Recently i met a classmate of mine after years.After qualifying from
IIT, he went to USA and returned within two years..This was at a time
when many educated Indians were leaving the country for greener
pastures, thanks to Nehrus socialist/marxist policies.I remember
telling him that he was crazy to come back to India. He started a small
buisness venture in his own town.
i met him on my recent visit and he told me that he has his main office
in Bombay and another one in Gujrat beside his Goa one. I did not ask
him about his turmover as i was quite sure that his company must be one
of the top in India
I was very proud of him as a friend. now i admire him still more
because because what he has achived and contributed to his homeland.i
can give many such examples.
What makes me sad is the story of people like Madhu who are hellbent on
going to PHOREN LAND for one reason or the other.We can go on
criticising all those who ago abroad and many have done so for many
reasons which we have no right to pass judgement on.But, the Government
and our Industrialists in Goa have not done anything worthwhile to
prevent this situation or help them come back. Even for a Cleaners job,
one has to pay heavy bribes on one hand and the money sucking greedy
industrialists will hire Cheap Labour UNDERCUTTING a GOAN the other
hand.
Having said that, it is mostly a catholic obsession to go to PHOREN
Land even if they are paid a fraction of what they can earn at home.I
have yet to understand this mentality!
