This was a verdict for continuity,stability, and showing the door for
divisive,communal and opportunistic politics! I hope MJ AKBAR is right when
he says that the election results show that the voter wants honesty,competence
and modesty.The BJP and left parties are out of touch with today's India.
Coming to Goa, I disagree with the CM who says this is a verdict for endorsing
the governance of the present dispensation where "jo jeeta woh sikander"can
sweep under the carpet the simmering discontent obvious in the many attempts to
overthrow the government, the working at cross purposes by the old netas in
power, and peoples agitations everywhere. The BJP has a better and less corrupt
lot and is comparatively better organised. However if "None of the Above"
option was given to the voter, the results in Goa could have been very
surprising!
The opening of the courts after summer holidays,the finalising of RP2021,and
putting in place police and administrative reforms towards good governance will
decide whether the Congress in Goa will be worthy of the result oriented
government expected to be formed at the Centre.
