Here in New York weather forecasting is extremely accurate right up to the
hour. If the weather-guy says it will rain by noon...then it does rain by
noon.

Mario observes:

Doesn't it depend on WHEN the weatherman says it will rain by noon today? If
he says that at 11:00 am, is that a big deal???:-)) I have heard weather
reports that there was no rain in the forecast for that day even while it was
raining outside:-))

I think you need to write down what the weatherman is saying TODAY, June 9,
2009, about what the weather will be a week from today, i.e. on June 16, 2009.
Then track what the weatherman is saying about the weather on June 16 tomorrow
and what he says about June 16 the day after that, etc. and see how what he
said on June 9 about June 16 compares with what he says about June 16 on June
15.

There is even a 24 hour weather channel here (www.weatherchannel.com).

Mario observes:

Isn't this because they need to revise their forecasts several times a day? If
they or their computer models were that good at forecasting the weather a few
days hence, or even a day in advance, why would they need a 24 hour weather
channel?
