KUWAIT INDIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION (KIFF) CELEBERATES SILVER JUBILEE ON 19th JUNE 2009 WITH THE J.P. D'MELLO MEMORAL KIFF LEAGUE FINALS
After a long and grueling eight months of intense football, Kuwait Indian Football Federation, Kuwait invites all football loving fraternity to come together to witness the KIFF League Final for the (Late) J.P. D'Mello Memorial Trophy to be played between seasoned campaigners and former champions GOA Maroons and DHL Football Club. The finals will be played at the Salmiya Baladiya Stadium with the kick off scheduled at 8am sharp. In the semifinals played on 13th June 2009 GOA Maroons defeated CRC Chinchinim and DHL Sports Club triumphed against former champions Navelim Youth Center. As Kuwait Indian Football Federation, Kuwait (KIFF) celebrates its 25th Anniversary this season, the KIFF Managing Committee appeals all to come and witness the closing ceremony scheduled at 7.30am The finals will be supervised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and FIFA affiliated referee Mr. Franky Fernandes who has been specially deputed by AIFF on request from KIFF and will be ably assisted by experienced KIFF referees. During the season 2008-2009 18 registered affiliates were split into 2 groups playing against each other in the round robin league format and the top two teams from each group qualified for the semifinals. Added attraction to the finals will be the presence of well known Konkani stage artiste and playwright Comedian Agostinho who will be visiting Kuwait as the Guest of Honor.
