In my personal opinion, Goans are not objecting to British families having second homes in Goa per se. The real issues involved here are 1) the illegal purchases of Goan homes 2) the scarcity of Goan land resources 3) the creation of gated communities.
I will qualify that all purchases are not illegal but those that are should be treated according to the laws in existence. Those involved in misleading the British buyers should be brought to book. The whole nexus of Real Estate agents, lawyers, fixers and Registrars must be exposed and suitable punishments imposed.
