The Government has acted on the concerns of British nationals about the purchase of property in Goa. We have made clear to the state authorities in Goa that we would be extremely concerned if there were to be any question of property acquired legally by British nationals being expropriated through the retrospective application of any new legislation. [HL5116] Lord Bach: Our High Commission in New Delhi has raised the issue with both the authorities in Goa and at a national level.
