Yes Eric I do live in Britain in West Sussex actually. I do know a little bit about Irish armed fight for Freedom. I personally think there is no parallel between American and Irish freedom fighters with Goan freedom fighters. ON our part it might have been all talk, talk, talk, and no armed insurrection. If my memory serves me right there were two referendums held throughout the ages asking the Northern Ireland population to vote for joining the Southern Free State which the people of Northern Ireland voted with overwhelming "NO" Were we Goans given that choice of holding a Referendum by either India Or Portugal asking us to join either one or the other. I don't think so. As for Her Majesty she is only a figure Head, I don't think she was ever consulted when Britain went to war against Iraq. Just to put things into perspective I am neither a monarchist or pro Portugal. All I want to know that these freedom fighters bore arms against Portugal.If they did they deserve all the honour that Goa Govt bestows on them. Ignatius Fernandes.
