The Hon'ble Jakob von Uexkull,
Founder and Emeritus of the Right Livelihood Awards/The Alternate Nobel,
Stockholm, Sweden.

Dear Jakob,

Just a few months until we, once again, meet at your august awards' ceremony,
with
the
same procedure as every year.

At the present I am sincerely and deeply moved to nominate Father Cedric
Prakash, s.
j.
for the Rught Livelihood Award.

This Jesuit's almost single-handed labours against the entrenched
fundamentalist
regime
in the Indian state of Gujarat, and relentless persecution of the minorities,
is
truely awesome
and goes a very long way to offer vitally essential measure of comfort, courage
and
hope to
the hapless downtrodden masses in Gujarat.

I take the liberty to point out that every possible international encouragement
for
Fr Cedric Prakash,
is cardinal not only for the success of his endearvours to safeguard civil
liberties
in the country and
the state but also to keep him safe, as far as possible, from attempts on his
life.

Please, kindly, advise me and inumerable other well-wishers of Fr Cedric
Prakash, on
the due
formalities and requisites in formally submiting the nomination papers of Fr.
Prakash.

In case it is already far delayed for this year's consideration I would
respectfully
nominate him
for the most distinguished "Alternate Nobel Award" for 2010.

Wishing You, Your Family and all our Friends at the Right Livelihood Foundation
the
best wishes,

I remain, Yours,
